Ben is an architectural designer & illustrator, with a B.Arch degree from Syracuse University, grad.2001, and over 15 years of professional experience in a variety of design fields (passive & active solar design, interactive systems design, educational planning & design, custom residential, branded design,..).
Ben is a native of Paris, France, where he spent his first eighteen years, growing up in a bilingual educational setting. Since moving to the US in 1996, he has lived in Syracuse, Boston, Los Angeles and currently resides in Southwest Portland.
Ben has been particularly interested in learning spaces & curricula for multiple intelligences for over a decade. He has worked on children’s learning spaces for the Getty museum in Los Angeles(2004), CalTech Arts & Science childrens center in Pasadena(2005), as well as on the design and planning of an outdoor learning Hawaiian public charter school, on Kauai (2009-2013). Currently, Ben spends most of his time with his sons, Noah(4y) & Émile(1.5y), honing his design teaching skills.
Monsieur Ben teaches our Design, Draw, Build After School class on Tuesdays, to school-aged children. He is also an integral part of our team for the Budding Engineers Summer Camp week at Atlas!
